Whether you're a beachcomber or a theme park fanatic, a golfer or a gourmet, you'll find plenty to enjoy in Orlando. Pick up your hire car at Orlando International Airport and hit the road, Jack. Book car hire Orlando Airport
Why hire a car at Orlando airport?
Orlando is massive - that's how they pack so many great attractions in - but America is a nation built on the automobile, so the sooner you hop in the driver's seat the better. Car hire at Orlando Airport is excellent value and means the holiday starts the minute you rescue your bags from the carousel.
That all-important first mile:
driving out of Orlando airport?
Wherever you're headed, you'll find your destination clearly signposted. The international airport is only nine miles southeast of downtown Orlando along the Beach Line Expressway. Like many of the city's major roads it's a toll road, so make sure you have some dollars handy - and remember to drive on the right!
You'll find car-hire desks on level one of the airport, at both terminals - A and B. This is the land where everybody's happy to help, so you'll find plenty of airport stewards to direct you.
End your trip on a sweet note and take home a selection of tasty Florida treats, such as Key lime pie-flavoured cookies, tupelo honey and the ubiquitous Hershey's chocolate.
There are plenty of cash machines throughout the main terminal and in the departure lounge. Remember, most of Orlando's main roads are toll roads, so you'll need plenty of change for your journey out.
There's a host of great cafes and restaurants in the airport - from a health-conscious smoothie bar to the all-American steak and grill. If you're in the mood for something special, try upmarket Hemispheres in the main terminal.
Orlando Airport is renowned for its thorough security systems, so expect to queue when it comes to the bag search. All gates can be reached by a speedy shuttle system, but still remember to leave plenty of time to check in.

The holiday hot spot is packed to the brim with world-class tourist attractions, from theme parks to water parks and pristine golf courses, as well as dining that will test the belly - but not the wallet. All this and sun to boot - it's a playground in paradise.
Wet 'n Wild
There's no better way to shake off plane stuffiness than a plunge into some cool water. When it comes to waterparks, this is the mother ship. Decades of flume-lovers have welcomed a wedgie on Der Stuka, with its sheer 250ft drop, and new thrills abound in The Black Hole - a space adventure in a two-person hydra capsule. And if hurtling through pipes isn't your bag, the park offers softer rides too.
Walt Disney World Resort
Disney has been making fairytales come true for kids - and, let's face it, adults - for years. With four enormous theme parks to choose from, you're going to be passing this way at least once - so why not get started straight away?
East Lake Tohopekaliga
You'll see plenty of man-made wonders in Orlando, so it's nice to start your trip with a glimpse at its natural beauty at this stunning freshwater lake. Plus, you can tear it up on the water on an airboat ride and go in search of alligators.
