Why hire a car at Belfast international airport?
Having been cooped up on a plane you might want to give Belfast's buses and trains a wide berth - public transport can get crowded, especially during rush hours. Pick up your hire car at the airport and continue your trip in comfort and at your own pace.
That all-important first mile:
driving out of Belfast international airport?
It couldn't be simpler - standard UK driving rules apply so keep to the left-hand side of the road and don't break the 75mph speed limit. Situated minutes from the A2, the airport offers easy access to the city centre and destinations across Northern Ireland.
Car hire desks are situated adjacent to the terminal building.
One word. Whiskey. Take advantage of the airport's newly opened duty-free shop to purchase a range of fine Irish whiskies that will impress any connoisseur.
There are two ATMs located on the main concourse, and one in the departures lounge on the first floor.
As you'd expect from an airport named after Belfast-born footballer George Best, there are some good bars. Try Bushmills in the departures lounge for a selection of malt and blended whiskies and hearty Irish pub food. Want to board the plane with a clear head? There are a number of coffee shops throughout the terminal building.
Find out what's hot and what's not just minutes after you touchdown with a visit to the tourist information centre in the arrivals hall - staff here can assist with sightseeing itineraries and book tickets for major events and festivals.
