Located in western Tuscany and beginning life as a seaside settlement around 3,000 years ago, Pisa is full of history and culture, with many monuments and buildings retaining an authentic medieval architecture.

Renowned throughout the world for its famous Leaning Tower, Pisa has so much more to offer than just this striking landmark. The north-west of Pisa plays host to an immense green lawn on which four impressive buildings stand: the breathtaking Duomo Cathedral (almost 1000 years old), the cathedral’s bell tower (better known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa), the circular Battistero (the largest Baptistery of its kind in Italy), and the Camposanto (also known as the Holy Field and one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world).

Pisa is also famed for its historic city centre where palaces and mansions still line the streets, many dating back to the 16th century. So why not hire a car and explore the Piazza Garibaldi or the elegant Borgo Stretto with their interesting shops and cafés? Or perhaps enjoy some of the many tourist attractions in the neighbouring cities of Florence and Lucca?
